A flash in the dark

 Waves of rain
      pour down
           from the sky,
                hammering on
               the windows.
          The hazy grey
        night sky is
 free of clouds
     yet  the  rain
        still falls. Barren
               trees  glisten
                    under  the
             full moon, coated by
     heavens tears.          The grass
 is matted                      and the
   soil soaks             the water
         in like             a  sponge.
                                    Tongues of
                                           Spidery
                                          lightning
                                       flash
                               across the sky
                    and the        ear splitting
            cracks and              rolls of
         thunder                         are all that
  can be                                       heard.
plants                                         and trees
    bend                                  to the will
        of the                                forceful
             wind,                                chilling
          and                                        cold. How
   greatly                                     the world changes
under heavy                     clouds, and          despite it all,
I find        that                       beauty                is       uncovered
     in                                                     this        thunder       storm.

Natures Tears (Su/M/20/11, revised)

watch
 beads of
 rain roll down
 the window pane,
they  look  like  glass
 pearls jutting out from  the
cold  glass. After  a  while,  the
droplets   turn  into  a   haze,  like
clear  glue  sliding  down  the  surface.
Outside, water courses through the empty
streets. I breathe in the faint smell of ozone
in a  heavy  rainfall. Taking   in   the  dark
beauty;  seeing   the   deep   color   of
the   cloud   filled   sky,  and   the
grey,   cold    mist     that
 surrounds  me.

Earth Bound Stars

In  the  late   night  sky,
early morning,The smoky grey fog
hangs   thick  in   the  air, And  morning
dew begins to transpire. Like a gypsies orb,
or  beads  of glass. Liquid pearls untouchable,
sprinkled  across the cropped grass, sticking
to the  blades  like  stickers. They  reflect
the moon  hung high in the  blackness,
sparkling   under  the glimmering
 diamonds  of  night.

Summer

she lies in a weedy green meadow, twirling a blade of grass
between her fingers. a soft, warm wind passes through,
causing little green clovers to bend, and the fluffy
white weeds to sway. knocking the
morning dew off their
leaves and
stems,

picking
a dandelion, she
closes her eyes, makes
wish... and blows
the seeds
away.

she drops the stem and lays downsinking in
the cool grassy bed, watching the clouds
go byshe sees swirls and rabbits
drifting in the ocean like sky.

she tears her eyes away,
resting her imagination,
and looks back to the
clover field. she spots
a  four  leaf  clover,
rising above the rest.

she reaches out to the plant,
lifts it by the roots, and leaves the clover field behind.
holding the little plant in her cupped hands, walks home under a velvet sky...
