Ominous and Lasting

You're

the fire blazing

brightly in the ageless

sky, Ebbing away in slow

defyance  of  the  moon.

You're  the  writhing

shadows of

a

quivering flame, Dancing

fluidly  where   the   light 

does  not   reach.  You're

the light that bursts from

a  f i r e c r a c k e r  Only

smoke   and    a    fleeting

flash  of  light. You're  the

brilliance  of  the dawning

sun, When I see your light

I know it will be a good day.

Unjust

                Too late,                           
        too  soon, I always                 
   think of you; Too  far, too           
near, I'm afraid you'll disappear;

Shattered Vows

Thorns of a wilting rose

         He crossed 

   my path many times 

today, I wish more than

 anything that he would 

  just go away. I curse

    my heart for falling 

     down my sleeve,

    for everyone to see, 

            so easily

           deceived.

             I regret 

               ever

             feeling

               any

              kind

   of attraction,

       his charm

              and

              false 

           kindness

               an 
             easy

            distraction. 

            Hatred

             and

           embarr-

          -assment

           cloud

              my

           heart,

     a constant

       reminder

         of who

               he

             was

             not.

              Oh

              the

        pain of

 invisibility, I

            have

            come

            back

            to this

            reality.

            For he

            is but

            a shallow 

            schoolboy, and

            I? A naïve,

            foolish 

            and 

            broken

            hearted

            girl. 

Wrong Solution

Threads            of heartbreak                   c u t l i k e                           vines, her
heart             w a s         broken          a 1000          times;             with             a little
tape,             and              a lot            of glue,          it almost     seems           as good
as new.          Angry      tears of          crimson          fall,          Emotions     from her
heart do           crawl; As the                    pain recedes                 and her spirit lifts,
Her hearts             still has                           room to                            l o v e.

Rusty heart

      Sometimes  young  love

  can truly last... but she won’t

take the                  risk, for the  

 times her                  heart  was 

     broken is            a long and

                             tiring list.

                         It’s been 

                    so  long 

               since she

             has loved

             She's  not 

              sure if she 

               can, silent

                tears leak 

           down her cheeks

          Why does  no  one 

              understand?

Remedy (rhyming)

Her                 soul                 stirs                restlessly, 

            her                 heart                   a                          broken 

cage;         weighing              down                  with 

      hopeless-              -ness,                just                    itching    

    

 to                 break                  away                But

           he                    holds                   her                       life 

together,       so                 she                doesn't         

              fall           apart;                  he                         looks     

         

deep                into                    her                 troubled   

        

             eyes,            saying,              “You'll                     always 

   

 have                 my                   heart.”                   <3
